Product description
Clos du Chapitre is a walled Premier Cru vineyard in Fixin, the northernmost appellation of the Côte de Nuits. Domaine Méo-Camuzet, one of Burgundy’s most respected producers, brings precision and finesse to this often-underappreciated site. The 2021 vintage—cool and classic in style—yielded wines of freshness, lower alcohol, and beautiful transparency. Grapes are hand-harvested, gently destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts. The wine is matured in French oak barrels (approximately 30–50% new) to preserve fruit purity and terroir expression while adding subtle structure.
Bouquet Fragrant and pure, with aromas of wild cherry, redcurrant, and violet. Gentle spice, forest floor, and a hint of smoky oak round out the nose, offering both charm and quiet complexity.
Palate Medium-bodied and finely textured. Red berry fruit glides across the palate, balanced by fresh acidity and elegant tannins. Subtle earthy notes, dried herbs, and a whisper of savoury oak lead to a clean, mineral-laced finish. A wine of grace and finesse, with a touch more seriousness than expected from Fixin.
Food Pairing Pair with duck confit, grilled mushrooms, roast pork, or herbed chicken. Also delicious with mushroom pâté, hard cheeses, or a wild rice and lentil salad. Decant gently if drinking young.
Cellaring Best from 2024–2032. This wine has the freshness and balance to age gracefully for a decade or more in proper cellar conditions.
