Grown in the historic goldfields of Bannockburn, the 2022 vintage of Domain Road Pinot Gris comes from vineyards nestled in schist-laden soils with exceptional sun exposure. Fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel, with a portion matured on fine lees to enhance texture. The result is a dry, fruit-driven style with the clarity, vibrancy, and mineral tension typical of Bannockburn’s cool-climate terroir.
Bouquet
Expressive and aromatic, the nose reveals ripe pear, white peach, and quince, laced with citrus blossom and a touch of baking spice. Hints of almond and flint add subtle savoury complexity.
Palate
Medium-bodied and finely textured. Juicy orchard fruit is supported by refreshing acidity and a creamy lees-derived softness. Notes of ginger, poached pear, and a touch of citrus peel linger through a dry, mineral finish. Clean, precise, and quietly elegant.
Food Pairing
Ideal with roast pork and apple, grilled salmon with lemon butter, or a pear and walnut salad. Also lovely with creamy risottos or goat’s cheese on seeded crackers.
