Sourced from mature vines in Marlborough’s southern valleys, this Chardonnay was hand-harvested and fermented using indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, 25% new. Full malolactic fermentation and extended lees ageing bring complexity, texture and refinement.
Bouquet The nose opens with grapefruit zest, ripe white peach and green almond, layered over smoky flint and toasty oak. There's a savoury thread of struck match that adds intrigue.
Palate Tightly focused and mineral-driven, with lively acidity supporting flavours of citrus, stone fruit and nutty oak. A beautifully composed wine, with a creamy mid-palate and long, saline finish.
Food Pairing Perfect with seared scallops, lemon-roast chicken or a creamy mushroom tagliatelle. Its vibrancy also suits soft cheeses.
Cellaring Built to age gracefully, this wine will evolve beautifully over 6 to 10 years, developing deeper nutty and savoury characters.
Interesting Fact Dog Point was founded by ex-Cloudy Bay pioneers Ivan Sutherland and James Healy, who brought a minimalist, hands-off philosophy to some of Marlborough’s most celebrated wines.
