Dicey Chenin Blanc 2024 is grown on the family’s Inlet Vineyard in Bannockburn, Central Otago—an unusual site for this Loire-origin grape, but one that brings precision and minerality to the style. The fruit is hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed and fermented with wild yeasts in older oak barrels. Partial malolactic fermentation and extended time on lees add weight and complexity while retaining freshness. The wine is unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulphur.
Bouquet Fragrant and fresh with aromas of white peach, lemon zest and yellow apple. Subtle notes of lanolin, chamomile and wet stone add savoury complexity.
Palate Dry and finely textured with taut acidity and a gentle creamy weight. Flavours of pear, grapefruit and quince are layered with saline minerality and a long, dry finish. A poised and distinctive white.
Food Pairing Ideal with goat’s cheese, roast chicken, grilled courgette, or lemony seafood. Also excellent with herby risotto, pork loin or lentil-based vegetarian dishes.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now, but will reward cellaring through 2029. With time, expect more honeyed and nutty depth.
