Craggy Range Gimblett Gravels Merlot 2021

Embracing the warm, gravelly soils of the region, this Merlot benefits from its terroir, where moderate heat fosters freshness and structure while preventing over-ripe characteristics from dominating. Comprising 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc, the vintage of this wine reflects a very warm spring, which hastened the growing season, followed by a mild summer with minimal rainfall, resulting in low yields. Adorned in a bright garnet red with a crimson hue, the bouquet exudes charming notes of blue and red fruits, complemented by subtle brioche nuances and hints of black liquorice. On the palate, a warming core of plush blue fruits captivates the senses, supported by a dense tannin structure and refreshing acidity, promising immediate deliciousness and a rewarding future.
