The Swamp Reserve Chardonnay is Coopers Creek’s flagship white, sourced from the finest fruit grown in Gisborne. Hand-picked and fermented in French oak barriques with regular lees stirring, this wine captures the essence of classic New Zealand Chardonnay with a rich yet refined profile. Full malolactic fermentation adds creaminess and depth, enhancing its long-lived structure.
Bouquet Enticing aromas of ripe stone fruit, roasted cashew and crème brûlée are lifted by citrus blossom and hints of flint and spice from quality oak handling.
Palate Opulent and concentrated, the palate is layered with peach, nectarine and toasty oak. A creamy texture is balanced by a fresh line of acidity, carrying through to a long, elegant finish. Power and poise in perfect harmony.
Food Pairing Pair with lobster in garlic butter, roast chicken with tarragon or a creamy mushroom pasta. Also excellent alongside aged Gouda or baked camembert.
Cellaring Will continue to develop complexity for 5 to 7 years, rewarding those with the patience to cellar it.
