Coopers Creek Select Vineyard Limeworks Chardonnay 2021

This meticulously crafted Chardonnay from the outstanding Hawke's Bay, features the finest fruit sourced from the esteemed Limeworks Vineyard. Following a dry and warm growing season, the grapes reached perfect ripeness before being delicately pressed and undergoing fermentation, followed by malolactic fermentation in barrels, including 20% new American oak. The wine then matured in barrels for 9 months with lees contact, enhancing its complexity and depth.

Tasting Notes:

This Chardonnay presents a pale gold hue in the glass, which will evolve beautifully with time. Its aromatic profile is rich and layered, showcasing notes of vanilla, cream, sweet lemon, grapefruit, hazelnut, and subtle oak. On the palate, it offers a powerful and rich experience, with weight, sweet fruit flavours, a luxurious texture, and remarkable length, truly capturing the essence of premium Hawke's Bay Chardonnay.

Cellaring & Pairing:

While enjoyable now, its structure and depth suggest it will benefit from cellaring. Store in a cool, dark place ideally between 10-15°C to preserve its delicate balance and enhance its ageing potential.
