Winemaking Founded by Tim Mondavi and family, Continuum is the pinnacle expression of Napa Valley terroir from the Sage Mountain Vineyard on Pritchard Hill. The 2017 vintage is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Merlot. Fermented with native yeasts and aged in French oak (60% new) for 22 months, the result is a wine of extraordinary purity, structure, and refinement.
Bouquet Intensely aromatic with blackcurrant, wild blueberry, and dark plum. Notes of graphite, violet, tobacco leaf, and warm spice rise from the glass with depth and polish.
Palate Full-bodied and tightly structured with a core of dark fruit, vibrant acidity, and fine tannins. Flavours of cassis, espresso, black olive, and cedar unfold in layered harmony. The finish is long, poised, and mineral, with incredible length and age-worthy balance.
Food Pairing Pair with prime rib, beef Wellington, venison, or truffle-infused dishes. A superb wine for refined red meat pairings or aged cheeses.
Cellaring Designed for the long haul, Continuum 2017 will reward careful cellaring over 20–30 years. Decanting is essential in its youth to reveal its full spectrum of aromas and texture.
Interesting Fact Continuum is the continuation of the Mondavi legacy—crafted by Tim Mondavi after the family’s departure from Robert Mondavi Winery. It is considered one of Napa’s great cult wines, revered for its finesse, longevity, and vineyard purity.
