Crafted by Tim Mondavi and family, Continuum is a single estate wine grown on Sage Mountain Vineyard atop Pritchard Hill. The 2017 vintage is a masterful blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot, reflecting both pedigree and precision. Aged for 22 months in French oak, it is produced with biodynamic practices and minimal intervention, ensuring the vineyard’s unique voice is preserved in every bottle.
Bouquet: An intoxicating aromatic profile of blackcurrant, ripe plum and crushed violet, layered with graphite, sweet tobacco and cedar. Subtle earthy notes and a touch of exotic spice add remarkable depth and complexity.
Palate: Silky, structured and immensely elegant, the palate delivers concentrated dark fruit, fine grained tannins and a mineral backbone. There is energy and finesse, with a long finish that echoes with dark chocolate, wild herbs and a whisper of lavender. A wine of extraordinary balance and clarity.
Food Pairing: Perfect with dry aged beef, venison backstrap, or a classic beef wellington. For an elevated vegetarian pairing, try it with grilled portobello mushrooms and truffle risotto.
Cellaring: Approachable now with decanting, but built for the long haul. Best enjoyed from 2025 to 2040 and beyond.
Interesting Fact: Continuum was born from four generations of Mondavi winemaking legacy, and its label is adorned with a painting by Marcia Mondavi, symbolising the family’s artistic and viticultural vision.
