Sourced from the Peumo Vineyard in the Rapel Valley—one of Chile’s most prestigious sites for Carmenère—Marques de Casa Concha 2023 is crafted to express purity, power and poise. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel, then matured for 12 months in a mix of French oak barrels and foudres. The result is a structured yet silky red with classic varietal character and modern finesse.
Bouquet Fragrant and layered, with aromas of blackberry, plum and blackcurrant. Underlying notes of cedar, cocoa, sweet tobacco and black pepper add aromatic depth.
Palate Full-bodied and smooth with ripe dark fruit, supple tannins and balanced acidity. Flavours of dark cherry, mocha, spice and subtle herbs carry through to a long, savoury finish.
Food Pairing Pair with grilled beef, lamb chops, smoky aubergine, or aged cheeses. Also excellent with slow-cooked meats, black bean dishes or roasted mushrooms.
Cellaring Enjoy now or cellar through 2030. With age, the wine will soften and reveal deeper spice and savoury complexity.
Interesting Fact Once nearly extinct, Carmenère was rediscovered in Chile in the 1990s—and Peumo, where this wine is grown, is now considered one of the best terroirs in the world for the grape.
