Crafted from hand-selected fruit grown on the breezy Te Awanga coastline in Hawke’s Bay, this Reserve Semillon reflects both site and precision. Grapes were gently pressed and fermented in a mix of stainless steel and seasoned oak using wild and cultured yeasts. Extended lees contact and regular stirring introduced richness and texture while preserving the wine’s vibrant citrus core.
Bouquet Refined and expressive. Aromas of lemon curd, fresh hay, chamomile, and lime blossom rise from the glass, interwoven with gentle oak spice and a whisper of beeswax.
Palate Bright and layered. The palate delivers lemon zest, green apple, and hints of white peach, underpinned by creamy lees texture and a fine mineral line. There's a gentle waxiness and nutty warmth that promises further complexity with age. A mouth-watering citrusy finish brings elegance and energy.
Food Pairing Outstanding with grilled crayfish, lemon and caper chicken, or Vietnamese lemongrass pork. Try it with goat’s cheese and rocket salad or New Zealand tuatua pasta for local flair. Also a brilliant match for roast cauliflower with tahini or aged cheddar.
Cellaring Drink now for freshness or cellar confidently through 2032 as the wine develops honeyed and toasty layers.
