This is no ordinary Sauvignon Blanc. From the renowned Church Road McDonald Series, this 2023 vintage is barrel fermented using wild yeasts and aged on full lees, delivering a creamy, layered style. Sourced from premium Hawke’s Bay vineyards, it’s a bold take on the variety with a nod to white Bordeaux.
Bouquet Enticing aromas of ripe citrus, stone fruit and pineapple meet smoky oak, vanilla bean and a hint of struck match. There’s a whisper of wild herbs and flint, promising complexity and intrigue.
Palate Lush and creamy yet superbly structured. Notes of lemon curd, roasted nectarine and grilled grapefruit are wrapped in toasty oak and silky texture. A savoury thread of almond and smoky spice lingers on the finish, balanced by a refreshing undercurrent of acidity.
