Founded in 1584, Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne, and the Celebris range represents its most refined and age-worthy expression. The 2007 vintage is a rare release, crafted only in exceptional years. A meticulous blend of 57% Chardonnay and 43% Pinot Noir from Grand and Premier Cru sites, it is aged for over 10 years on lees before disgorgement. With a dosage of just 3 g/L, this Extra Brut style allows the wine’s pure, mineral-driven character to shine through.
Bouquet
Exquisitely layered, the nose reveals citrus oil, white peach, and fresh almond, interwoven with delicate notes of brioche, hazelnut, and crushed oyster shell. There’s a sense of tension and precision beneath the richness—elegant, lifted, and full of quiet power.
Palate
Taut and chiselled, yet creamy in its delivery. Lemon curd, poached pear, and toasted nuts unfold on a silky mousse, driven by razor-fine acidity and a chalky mineral spine. The extended lees ageing adds savoury depth, with subtle oxidative notes lending gravitas. The finish is long, saline, and refreshingly dry, inviting contemplation with every sip.
Food Pairing
An exceptional match for caviar, lobster tail in butter, or aged Comté. Also superb with delicate sashimi or even roast chicken with truffle jus. A Champagne to savour slowly—at a celebration, or simply as the celebration itself.
