The Adrianna Vineyard, situated at 1,450 metres in the Andes foothills of Gualtallary, Mendoza, is considered the Grand Cru of South America. The ‘River’ parcel is named for its incredibly rocky, alluvial soils—remnants of ancient riverbeds that create intense stress for the vines, resulting in naturally low yields and exceptional concentration. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in oak and concrete, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for around 18 months. The 2020 vintage delivers remarkable purity, texture, and mineral complexity—hallmarks of this extraordinary site.
Bouquet Fragrant and precise, with aromas of wild blackberry, black cherry, and plum, intertwined with violet, crushed stones, and hints of cocoa and sweet tobacco. The rocky terroir speaks through a lifted mineral freshness.
Palate Elegant yet structured. Juicy black fruit is framed by fine tannins and vibrant acidity. A distinctive saline minerality and chalky texture run through the core, with notes of graphite, dark chocolate, and clove adding depth. The finish is long, poised, and resonant—both powerful and graceful.
Food Pairing Ideal with grilled ribeye, roast lamb, or portobello mushroom burgers. Also beautiful with black lentil stew, chargrilled eggplant, or aged hard cheeses like Manchego.
Cellaring A superb candidate for long-term cellaring. Drink from 2025–2040+ as it develops further nuance and harmony. Store under ideal conditions to allow this wine’s true personality to emerge.
Interesting Fact The Adrianna Vineyard is often referred to as the “Grand Cru of South America”, and the River parcel’s stony soil forces vines to struggle—producing Malbec with extraordinary focus, structure, and minerality rarely seen in the variety.
