Product description
Sourced from the celebrated Adrianna Vineyard in Gualtallary, Mendoza, ‘Fortuna Terrae’—meaning fortune of the earth—comes from a cooler, organically farmed parcel nestled at 1,200 metres above sea level. The soils are deep and loamy with high calcium carbonate content, producing Malbec with incredible purity and tension. The 2020 vintage was marked by a warm, dry growing season, delivering optimal ripeness and concentration. Fermented with wild yeasts in large oak barrels and concrete, and aged for 18 months in French oak (only a small percentage new), this wine is expressive, structured, and beautifully terroir-driven.
Bouquet Lifted and floral, with notes of wild violet, fresh plum, blueberry, and black cherry. Underlying aromas of crushed stone, thyme, and a hint of cocoa speak to its high-altitude origin and mineral-rich soils.
Palate Silky and refined. Vibrant red and dark fruit glide across the palate, framed by fine tannins and refreshing acidity. A mineral edge adds precision and freshness, while layers of spice, tobacco, and dark chocolate build through the mid-palate. The finish is long, pure, and elegant, revealing a graceful power beneath its poise.
Food Pairing Pair with grilled lamb, charred eggplant, duck with cherry glaze, or mushroom polenta. Also excellent with aged Manchego or a rosemary-infused roast.
Cellaring Drink from 2024–2040+. This wine will continue to evolve beautifully, gaining complexity and secondary character with careful cellaring.
Interesting Fact While ‘River’ shows the rocky intensity of the Adrianna Vineyard, ‘Fortuna Terrae’ reflects its most fertile and biodiverse plot—home to native grasses, flowers, and beneficial microbes, adding vibrancy and life to this extraordinary Malbec.
