Distilled in the Southern Alps near Wanaka, The Source is Cardrona Distillery’s flagship gin—crafted from locally foraged botanicals and pristine alpine water. The spirit is copper pot-distilled in small batches, allowing for exceptional purity and expressive flavour. Key botanicals include juniper, coriander seed, angelica root, orange zest, and rosehip, alongside seasonal botanicals that reflect the surrounding landscape.
Bouquet Beautifully lifted aromas of juniper, citrus peel, and wild herbs, layered with floral notes and a hint of alpine freshness.
Palate Bright, elegant, and well-balanced. Classic juniper character leads, supported by citrus and soft spice. There’s a creamy texture on the palate thanks to the pure alpine water, with a lingering finish that is clean, herbal, and subtly warming.
Food Pairing Perfect in a classic G&T with a slice of orange or thyme garnish. Also shines in martinis or more floral cocktails like a gin sour or elderflower spritz. Try it with cured salmon, goat cheese, or a citrus-dressed salad.
Cellaring No cellaring required. Best enjoyed fresh and stored in a cool, dark place. Once opened, consume within 1–2 years for peak flavour.
Interesting Fact Every drop of The Source Gin is made from scratch at Cardrona Distillery—from milling and fermenting the grain to distilling and bottling on-site. It’s one of the few truly single-site craft gins in the world.
