Product description
Finca La Pedrissa is a single-vineyard wine crafted from old-vine Carignan grown in the mountainous, windswept terrain of Terra Alta in Catalunya. These ancient vines, some over 60 years old, are dry-farmed and hand-harvested. The wine is fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months, followed by time in bottle before release. Edetària focuses on purity and precision, letting this distinctive site and variety speak with clarity and soul.
Bouquet A beautifully lifted nose reveals layers of black cherry, wild plum and bramble fruit, wrapped in warm spice, lavender and a whisper of liquorice. Earthy undertones, graphite and subtle oak notes add complexity and finesse.
Palate The palate is bold and structured yet refined, offering dark, concentrated fruit, firm tannins and vibrant acidity. Silky in texture with depth and poise, it finishes long with hints of dark chocolate, cracked pepper and Mediterranean herbs. A captivating expression of old-vine Carignan with elegance at its core.
Food Pairing Pair with herb-crusted lamb, chargrilled venison, or slow-cooked beef cheeks. This wine also pairs wonderfully with mushroom risotto, Manchego cheese or smoky eggplant dishes.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now, though it will reward careful cellaring through to 2030 and beyond, gaining added complexity and polish.
Interesting Fact Terra Alta is one of Catalunya’s most underrated wine regions, but thanks to producers like Edetària, it's fast becoming known for serious, age-worthy reds. Old-vine Carignan like this is a rarity, showcasing the region’s full potential in the hands of skilled winemaking.
