Winemaking The 2022 Beach House Selection Chardonnay is made in an inviting, fruit-forward style from grapes grown on Hawke’s Bay’s sun-drenched slopes. Fermented primarily in stainless steel to retain freshness, a small portion saw time in French oak for added roundness and gentle complexity. Partial malolactic fermentation and lees contact enhance texture while keeping the wine light on its feet.
Bouquet The nose is bright and appealing, with ripe peach, melon and citrus blossom. Hints of vanilla and soft spice peek through, giving a subtle nod to oak.
Palate Smooth, fresh and easy-going, the palate brings generous stone fruit and creamy citrus flavours, with a soft, rounded texture and gentle acidity. A whisper of oak frames the finish, which is clean, fruity and satisfying.
Food Pairing A natural choice for roast chicken, creamy pasta, or grilled fish. Also lovely with pumpkin salad, vegetable quiche or a soft-ripened cheese platter.
Cellaring Best enjoyed young and fresh. Drink now through 2025 while the fruit is at its most vibrant.
Interesting Fact Beach House Wines is nestled on the western side of the Heretaunga Plains in Hawke’s Bay, where the long sunshine hours and gravelly soils produce wines full of warmth and charm—perfect for relaxing, sharing, and savouring.
