Distillation & Maturation Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask is matured in traditional American oak casks before being finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. This double maturation gives the whisky its trademark balance of Speyside sweetness with exotic spice and warmth. Bottled at 43%, it offers a richer, fruitier twist on Balvenie’s classic honeyed style.
Nose Sweet and rounded, with aromas of toffee, vanilla, tropical fruit and gentle oak. Hints of banana, brown sugar and warm spice invite you in.
Palate Smooth and full-flavoured, the palate reveals layers of creamy toffee, ripe mango, cinnamon and malted barley. Rum cask influence brings soft spice and exotic fruit, leading into a warming, slightly dry finish with notes of oak and sultana.
Food Pairing Perfect with spiced pineapple tart, coconut desserts or aged cheddar. Also excellent with grilled pork or caramelised banana.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now but will hold well over time. A great choice for those who enjoy gentle richness with a tropical twist.
Interesting Fact Balvenie’s Malt Master, David C. Stewart MBE, specially selected and seasoned the rum casks himself—creating a now-iconic finish that helped pioneer the use of rum barrels in Scotch whisky.
