Meaning "the original" in Scots Gaelic, A'bunadh is crafted in honour of Aberlour’s founder, James Fleming. This limited batch release is handmade from start to finish and matured exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry butts. Bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration, Batch 76 is an unfiltered expression of Speyside whisky, delivering the hallmark richness and spice that defines the A'bunadh legacy.
Bouquet Aromas of warm mixed spice, toasted praline, and spiced orange peel, all wrapped in deep layers of Oloroso sherry. Dried fruit and dark chocolate lend a luxurious weight to the nose.
Palate Full-bodied and creamy in texture with bold flavours of black cherry, ginger, dark chocolate, and fruit cake. Notes of raisin and orange are lifted by exotic spice and rich oak, offering a complex, powerful experience that lingers with bitter-sweet finesse.
Food Pairing Excellent alongside dark chocolate desserts, sticky toffee pudding, or strong cheeses. A few drops of water can soften the strength and reveal additional layers of complexity.
Cellaring Ready to drink now, but will hold beautifully in the bottle for at least a decade if stored upright in a cool, dark space.
Interesting Fact Every batch of A'bunadh is unique, with small differences in strength and profile. Batch 76 continues the series’ reputation for delivering one of the richest sherry-matured malts on the market.
