Villa Maria Single Vineyard Seddon Pinot Gris 2021

Grown on the northern bank of the Awatere River, the Seddon Vineyard is one of Marlborough’s most distinctive sites. Sheltered and dry with long growing days, it produces Pinot Gris with concentration, structure, and aromatic lift. The 2021 vintage was hand-picked and fermented in a combination of stainless steel and seasoned oak barrels, with extended time on fine lees to develop mouthfeel and depth. Crafted in an off-dry style, this single vineyard expression brings richness, purity, and precision together in harmony.

Bouquet

Aromatic and alluring, with ripe nashi pear, quince, and white peach at the fore. Accents of honeysuckle, almond blossom, and baking spice give the bouquet a floral and gently exotic charm.

Palate

Lush and layered, yet finely balanced. The palate delivers baked pear, citrus oil, and ginger spice over a smooth, creamy texture. The acidity is bright and framing, offsetting the wine’s soft sweetness and leading into a long, mineral-tinged finish. An expressive and quietly powerful Pinot Gris with real presence.

Food Pairing
