Glenturret 10 Year Old Peat Smoked is a distinctive single malt from one of Scotland’s oldest working distilleries. Made using peated malted barley and matured for a decade in a mix of European and American oak casks, it offers a unique Highland perspective on smoky whisky. Bottled at 50% ABV, this expression delivers intensity, structure and depth without overpowering the natural character of the spirit. Non-chill filtered and naturally coloured for maximum authenticity.
Bouquet Smouldering campfire smoke, toasted nuts, dried apple and dark honey lead the nose, with undertones of black pepper, citrus peel and earthy oak. There’s a balance between sweet malt and rugged peat that invites exploration.
Palate Bold and structured with a creamy texture. Flavours of burnt orange, sea salt caramel, spiced oak and charred fruit unfold alongside soft leather, smoky embers and cracked pepper. The higher strength brings depth and clarity, while the smoke builds gradually into a long, warming finish laced with peat and baking spice.
Food Pairing Best enjoyed neat or with a dash of water to open the layers. Pairs beautifully with smoked meats, grilled lamb, blue cheese, or dark chocolate with sea salt. Also a fine companion to a winter fire or a rich cigar.
Cellaring Drinking beautifully now, but will evolve further over the next 5–10 years if cellared carefully. Once opened, enjoy within a few years for peak balance.
Interesting Fact While Glenturret is best known for its gentle, unpeated whiskies, the Peat Smoked series showcases the distillery’s hidden versatility—offering a smoky Highland style that sits somewhere between the elegance of Speyside and the power of Islay.
